Drag a box anywhere above the timeline; drag its right or bottom edge to resize.
Click a box, a period name or a year to point the notes panel at it. Double-click opens its attributes instead. A small count appears on anything that has notes — click it to read them.
The panel has three views: This card, Unfiled for notes with nothing to hang on, and All notes grouped by what they belong to. Tags appear as chips — click one to pull up everything wearing it across the whole study, click it again to clear.
Notes take markdown. A note applies in every scenario unless you scope it to the one you are in, and tags let one note belong to several topics. Deleting an object leaves its notes behind as unfiled rather than destroying them.
Tidy snaps near-equal positions together: boxes that nearly share a row line up on one, and period edges meet each other and the year markers. Undo tidy puts it back.
With two or more boxes selected, an alignment bar appears under the timeline: align edges, or space them evenly.
Shift-click boxes to select several, then drag any one of them to move the whole group together. Escape clears the selection, and it resets when you change scenario.
+ expands a box to show scripture and explanation; × sends it to staging.
Periods are handled entirely from their name line: drag the middle to move, drag an end to resize, click to edit. The colored band itself is not clickable, so a stray click never moves a period.
The × at the right of a name line sends that period to staging. Overlapping bands blend into a combined hue.
Year markers sit below the line, each joined to it by a tick from the middle of its top edge. Drag to move, click to edit, × to stage.
Give a year a higher Row to stack it further below the line — its tick lengthens so it still meets the timeline.
The strip above the timeline line is reserved for period names — events stay clear of it.
A scenario can carry a background color from a palette of twenty. It washes the page around the timeline, so switching scenario is obvious and you can see which one you are editing. Leave it unset and nothing changes.
Duplicate copies the whole scenario — events, bands, and years — so you can vary one edge without rebuilding the rest. + Scenario starts from the default arrangement.
Snap lines drags up with nearby period edges, year-marker centers, and other boxes' edges and centers. A guide shows what it caught. Hold ⌥ while dragging to place freely.
Event and period positions are saved per scenario. The events and periods themselves are shared across all scenarios.
In the icon field, type : then a name (e.g. :sheep) to search emoji.
Emoji placement is set per scenario: auto, on its own line, inline with the name, emoji only at double size, or off. Emoji-only saves the most room; expanding the box still shows the full name.
Tint groups events by color, however you choose. It is the same in every scenario and carries no meaning of its own — leave it as None and the box stays neutral.
Clear Current Scenario sends every event, period and year on this timeline to staging. Other scenarios are untouched, and each item remembers its spot — put it back from a chip and it returns where it was.
Print… asks for paper size and scale. Fit to page shrinks the whole timeline onto one sheet; a fixed percentage prints larger and spreads it across sheets you can lay side by side, each marked "sheet 1 of 3". The dialog tells you how many sheets before you commit. Optionally append every placed event in timeline order with its scripture. The footer names the scenario, the paper and scale, when it was printed, and which build produced it. Choose "Save as PDF" to keep a copy.
Export saves everything as one JSON file; Import restores it, including from settings.json.
